Xiaolei Ding, Violin Professor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, studied at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music and the the Art Institute of Boston University. A former featured member of the Boston City Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of the Royal College of Music, she has also served as a Jury member in the Ninth China National Violin Competition. Many of her students have won prizes at international level. In 2008 she acquired a violin by Joseph Curtin. In 2009, her student Zheng Liu used it to win Second Prize at the Jeunesses International Music Competition in Romania.
