Keith Hamm, Viola

Keith Hamm became Principal Violist of The Canadian Opera Company Orchestra in 2012. He was then the youngest member of the ensemble, and one of the youngest principals in North America. A native of Rosebud, Alberta, Hamm studied with Nicolas Pulos then Steven Dann. He won the Stratford Symphony’s Emerging Artists Competition and The Glenn Gould School Chamber Music Competition. In 2013 Hamm was celebrated as a Next! artist by CBC Radio 2. He performs on a 2001 Curtin viola.
