Jordan Koransky, Violin

Jordan Koransky joined the Houston Symphony in 2017. A Southern California native, he received his bachelor’s degree at the USC Thornton School of Music, and his master’s degree at Rice’s Shepherd School of Music, where he studied with Alice Schoenfeld and Paul Kantor, respectively. While at Rice, he served as concertmaster of the Shepherd Symphony Orchestra on multiple occasions. Koransky has held fellowships at numerous music festivals, including Tanglewood, Taos, and the Music Academy of the West. In 2016 he appeared at Tanglewood as a member of the New Fromm Players, where he performed premieres of contemporary chamber music works. Jordan plays Joseph Curtin violin built in 1998.
