Jordan Koransky, Violin

Violinist Jordan Koransky joined the LA Phil in fall 2019, having previously played three seasons with the Houston Symphony. A native of Southern California, he attended the Thornton School of Music, USC, as a Trustee Scholar. He studied with Alice Schoenfeld, and received a Bachelor of Music Degree summa cum laude. He then completed his Masters at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, where he studied with Paul Kantor and frequently served as Concertmaster of the Shepherd Symphony Orchestra. Jordan won fellowships at several festivals, including Tanglewood, Taos, and the Music Academy of the West. During a 2016 residency at Tanglewood with the New Fromm Players, he performed numerous premieres of contemporary chamber music works. He plays a 1998 Joseph Curtin violin.
