Clayton Penrose-Whitmore was the inaugural recipient of the Chase Isaac Stern Award for Musical Talent and Artistry in 2008. That same year he won First Place in the Sphinx Competition Junior Division. In 2014 he took Second Place in the Senior Division. He has appeared as soloist with the New World Symphony, the Colorado Symphony, and the Hartford Symphony, among others. Penrose-Whitman currently studies with Nicholas Kitchen at the New England Conservatory. He has played a Joseph Curtin violin since 2005.
