Alex Currin

Alex Currin assists Joseph Curtin with making, repairs, and the design and construction of tools and fixtures. He studied English at The College of Wooster before enrolling in the Violinmaking School of America in Salt Lake City, where his teachers were Charles Woolf and Sang-Hoon Lee. Currin has since then become a regular participant at the VSA Oberlin Workshops, and was a core member of the research team for the 2017 bridge acoustics experiments. When not at Joseph Curtin Studios, he builds and restores instruments at his own shop, plays stringed-bass, bass guitar, mandolin, and banjo, sails competitively on Lake St. Clair, and canoes lazily on the Huron River.
