Cho-Liang Lin, Violin

Cho-Liang Lin is internationally renowned as a violin soloist, chamber musician, and more recently, an orchestral conductor. He has recorded for Sony Classical, Decca, Ondine, Naxos, and won Gramophone’s Record of the Year and two Grammy nominations. Born in Taiwan in 1960, in 2000 Musical America named Lin Instrumentalist of the Year. He directs the La Jolla Music Society’s SummerFest and the Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival, and teaches violin at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. Cho-Liang Lin plays the 1715 “Titian” Stradivarius. He purchased a Joseph Curtin violin in 2013.
