Joseph Curtin became interested in violin acoustics when he met researcher Carleen Hutchins in the early 1980s. His interest intensified after moving to Ann Arbor and meeting Gabriel Weinreich, a University of Michigan physicist and leading authority on the physics of the violin. Curtin has since worked with many scientists and researchers.
In the following pages, you can meet some of them and learn about their work. You can also read some of Curtin’s articles on violin acoustics and learn about his current research projects.
