Gared Crawford, violin

Gared Crawford served as Associate Concertmaster for the South Bend Symphony, Concertmaster for the Evansville Philharmonic, first violinist of the Eykamp String Quartet, then in 2012 joined the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. While at the Oberlin Conservatory, he won the 2003 Concerto Competition and performed Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1. He completed his master’s degree at NorthWestern University under the guidance of Almita Vamos. Crawford plays a detailed copy of the “Lady Stretton” Guarneri del Gesu by Joseph Curtin. He is also an accomplished sleight-of-hand artist and card magician.
